Kitty Hawk, North Carolina

The first contact point for visitors crossing the bridge from the north, Kitty Hawk serves as the ambassador for all of the Outer Banks. Originally established as Chickahawk in the early 1700s, the etymology of the name to its current state is still up for debate amongst locals.

None-the-less, Kitty Hawk stands ready to greet its guests with a variety of activities that include golf, shopping, dining and, of course, beach-side fun. Kitty Hawk is also home to a unique ecological wonder called Kitty Hawk Woods. The maritime forest and surrounding marsh areas are home to an exciting variety of birds, mammals, reptiles and other wildlife. Trails for hiking and horseback riding await to offer visitors a glimpse at this hidden oasis.

Of course, if you just want to kick back and enjoy life as it strolls by, Kitty Hawk offers just about any diversion you think up, and proides a number of exciting rental opportunities that will put you in the center of it all.
