Soft crabs high in demand, short on landings
Local fisherman have seen a steady decline in the number of blue crabs harvested over the past couple of years. Benny O'Neal, of O'Neal's Sea Harvest in Wanchese, noted that this year has been "slower than usual."
Several fisherman speculate that the on-going drought has caused too much salt for the crabs to thrive during their molting process. Read the Full Article
