OBX Golf Conditions
When you pack your sunscreen and you beach towel, don’t forget to pack your clubs. Golf on the Outer Banks is a fun challenge, and there are nearly a dozen public and private courses to explore while you’re on vacation.
You’ll find several courses on the mainland, right before you cross the bridge to the Outer Banks. The rest are scattered along the islands, and all are just a short drive from one another. It’s easy to stop for a quick nine on your own. Or, spend an afternoon conquering 18 holes with a foursome—and don’t forget to stop by the 19th hole when you’re done.
The Outer Banks terrain lends itself not only to beautiful courses, but also to championship greens. Sand dunes and wetland marshes are used to full potential, creating challenges for golfers of all levels. When the strong sea winds pick up, your perfect shots become even more rewarding.
And if you really want to improve your handicap, check out some of the fun, family-oriented mini-golf courses on the Outer Banks. The greens might not be quite as lush, but they do have waterfalls, windmills and other crazy hurdles.
Get your gold excursions started on OBX.com. Whether you’re scheduling a tee time or looking for a place to putt-putt with the kids, we’ll get you on the way to a hole-in-one.
