How to find the best seashells
So how do you find the coolest shells on the beach?
True, you’ll find plenty of lovely shells in the gift shops of the Outer Banks. But there’s nothing quite like walking along the shore on your own, searching for that perfect conch shell or sand dollar.
If you’re hunting for seashell treasure, here are a few tips to ensure beachcombing success. The best time to start searching is right after a storm; spring squalls are particularly good. A churning ocean means that the stronger waves can toss heavier and larger seashells up along the beach.
It also helps to explore early in the morning. Not only is the beach lovely at this time of day, it’s also a good to time to find shells before they’re scooped up by other beachcombers. Read the Full Article
