Cool cars in OBX support great hospital
Light Up Sound Off, Inc. in conjunction with the Nags Head Food Lion hosted the 2nd Annual Charity Auto Show benefiting the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters (CHKD) on July 26.
"We were scared of the turnout because only four had pre-registered, but we've had over 70 entries," said George Etheridge owner of Light Up Sound Off, Inc.
Last year, Food Lion alone donated $26 million to the Children's Miracle Network branch of the CHKD in Norfolk. As a child, Etheridge was treated numerous times at CHKD. One visit was for a cracked skull and another was for a Tylenol overdose. Reflecting on his personal experiences with CHKD, he said all of the planning and energy involved was "well worth it."
