This fishing tournament will be geared towards catching blue fish and red drum – which are often plentiful on the Outer Banks in November. Entry Fee: $90 per person or $60 per person for annual pier pass holders. The fee includes unlimited fishing throughout the tournament, an event t-shirt, lunch at Pangea Tavern on Sunday for participant, and a welcome party in the pier house with PBR. RUTH WAYNANDS AND THE FACTORY BOYS – November 7th – 7:30 pm – Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Outer Banks, 831 Herbert Perry Rd, Kitty Hawk – “‘Bluejazz” or “Jazzy Blues” are the names heard to describe Ruth’s music. The Factory Boys are the premier improvisational comedy troupe in the Outer Banks. The concert is the first concert in this season’s Music at the Meeting House, the congregation’s annual fundraising music series which hosts local artists in a quiet, listening environment. Doors open at 7:00 pm. The performance begins at 7:30 pm. Light hors d’oeuvres and desserts, soft drinks, wine and coffee will be served before the performance and during intermission. 28th Annual Outer Banks Woman’s Club Angel Gifts Project – OBWC helped over 450 children with Christmas gifts for the 2014 season. The Angel Gifts Project is in partnership with Dare County Social Services. Parents that need help buying gifts for their children are asked to complete an application at the Dare County Social Services offices in Manteo. Applications will be taken October 26 through Nov.13th.

Donations for Angel Gifts can be mailed to Outer Banks Woman’s Club, PO Box 102, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948 or processed through PayPal on the club’s website at Opportunities are also available for an individual, or family, to sponsor a child by providing their Christmas gifts. Names can be found on the Angel Gifts Project Trees that are located at the following businesses; Rack Room Shoes in Kill Devil Hills Center and the Tanger Outlet Center in Nags Head ( these trees will have names of those children needing shoes); Walmart in Kitty Hawk, and Island Pharmacy in Manteo.
