Post Hurricane Matthew

We would like to thank the power companies who are working so diligently along with the cable companies. We would also like to thank the first responders who have worked tirelessly to keep the people in our area safe.

Although the Outer Banks (except Hatteras) is now open to visitors please understand that there are still many areas that are inaccessible due to flood waters, as well as areas without electricity, cable and internet.

A Personal Note from Our Admin – If you are coming to visit the OBX in the near future please be thoughtful, compassionate, and generous. Do your homework before you come so that you are not disappointed. Call your rental company or lodging. Check the news on your favorite restaurants on FB or their website.

Know that we will greet you with warmth and probably tell you we are fine but we are not all fine. Many of us have lost a lot, some everything. Between TS Hermine and Hurricane Matthew the personal toll has been huge emotionally and financially. Thank you in advance for your kindness.

As things shake out we will try to find out which events are still planned for the coming couple of weeks. Limited electricity and internet is making information gathering a bit diffcult.

Thank You for your Patience.
